hey does anyone have recommendations for mechanical keyboards? getting really sick of the one I have. adjustable backlights a plus (blue is NOT OKAY).

@maenad heard good things about the Corsair K70
haven't used it personally but I know corsair has really good light customization
@maenad i have a corsair k95 RGB and i can say it's uh. kinda ridiculous and gamer-y but nice to have, the k75 doesn't have the extra columns of "G keys" for macro bindings
however if yr not on windows it's more of a pain to get everything working with the keyboard so there's that (i'm running on linux and had to go find a driver and such someone made on github)

fair enough!! then i would totes recommend them. the k95 RGB takes 2 normal USB ports, or 1 of a USB 3.0 port (i think that's the blue ones, right? lmao i know fuck-all about computers)
@maenad @Fidgetcetera it might just be my household being hard on things, but of three corsair keyboards we've had two failed within a year and a half of purchase.

it's survived several soda spills but i did have to take it apart and rebuild and i think i broke the media keys

@Fidgetcetera @maenad yeah there were spills involved in mine, eventually the two that died started spamming constant inputs.

@maenad caveats with the aukey board:
* has knockoff Blues and they are hilariously loud, so you'll be That Person on raids
* has no backlight
pros:
* it was the simplest/cheapest/fastest thing i could find to replace a board that had like 4 keys stop working after a lightning storm
the max is very nice and i appreciate the ability to use it as a media playback controller (like it is now, hence the color pattern) or macropad on another layer if i don't need 10key

also right now I'm bluescreening every other boss (driver issues) so I'm already that person in raids.
That's why I tank. It takes so long for tank spots to fill they have to wait for me.
@maenad I've really liked the coolermaster ones I've had
